This ordinance expands Amesbury’s Renewable Energy Development Overlay District (REDD) to include portions of Parcel 45-4 for large-scale solar development and updates several solar-related provisions in the Zoning Ordinance (Sections V, VI, XI.S, and X.IV). The changes widen where large solar projects can be sited, clarify access and infrastructure requirements, and add environmental safeguards such as wildlife habitat mitigation and stormwater management, as well as provisions for outside-REDD access roads with appropriate permits.
