Planning Board Meeting
Planning Board continued the public hearing on Bill 2024-096 (Zoning Amendment expanding the Renewable Energy Development Overlay District) and continued applications for 80 Haverhill Rd and 233 Lions Mouth Rd to the February 10, 2025 meeting.
The Planning Board met in person on January 27, 2025, and appointed an Acting Chair for the night. The meeting focused on three public hearings: Bill 2024-096 (a zoning amendment), an application for 80 Haverhill Rd, and an application for 233 Lions Mouth Rd. All three items were continued to the February 10, 2025 meeting; the Board noted it had only four members present and, for at least one item, a special permit would require five sitting members. For Bill 2024-096 the Board is awaiting a memo from the city attorney (KP Law) and discussed communications between the Lake Attitash Association, their attorney, and city staff about the timing and availability of legal guidance.
Board members and applicants discussed concerns about late-breaking information and the submission cutoff for materials, with members emphasizing the importance of having time to review documents in advance. The Lake Attitash Association’s attorney submitted a proposed amendment that was sent to the city attorney and is pending response; three public comment letters already on file were continued with the hearing. In administrative business the Board authorized payment of three Stantec invoices (Bailey’s Pond; 47.5-57 Kimball Rd; 14 S Hunt Rd). The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote to adjourn.
