Council approved multiple mayoral appointments (2024-032 through 2024-047), passed Orders creating an Opioid Settlement Special Revenue Fund (2024-014) and authorizing overspend of the FY2024 snow & ice appropriation (2024-015), approved school-related appropriations for collective bargaining (2024-026) and Cashman Playground (2024-027), and renewed the ACTV agreement (2024-029).
The City Council convened to consider mayoral appointments, budget and contract items, and routine licenses. The council approved a slate of appointments to boards and committees (including Historical Commission and the Disposition Committee), accepted the monthly license list, and heard a presentation from the mayor on the city's financial condition. Council members asked questions about sources of new growth and the timing of Bailey Pond funds being reflected in the budget.
On second readings and fiscal matters the Council unanimously passed an Order to create an Opioid Settlement Special Revenue Fund and appropriate $114,123.63 from Free Cash (2024-014), and approved an Order authorizing the Department of Public Works to overspend the FY2024 snow and ice appropriation (2024-015). The Council also approved appropriations from Free Cash for school-related items: $310,396.12 for collective bargaining settlements (2024-026, passed 7-0-1 with one abstention) and $106,678.15 for the Cashman Playground project (2024-027). The renewal agreement with ACTV through June 30, 2032 (2024-029) was approved as amended after correcting clerical errors. No public comment was received during the meeting.
