The City of Amesbury is adopting an order to appropriate $106,678.15 from Free Cash to Amesbury Public Schools to supplement the cost of constructing a new playground at Cashman Elementary School. The funds come from a National Grid Efficiency Incentive Payment deposited into the General Fund on 11/9/2023, generated from the Shay Elementary School project, and will roll to Free Cash at the end of FY2024. The total project cost is $226,247.30, with additional funding from the Cashman PTO donation ($25,000), FY 2024 Legislative Earmark ($75,000), and ESSER III ($19,659.15). The appropriation enables the school to proceed with the playground construction using multi-source funding.
