Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission’s May 5, 2025 meeting focused on several Notices of Intent for shorefront and near-wetland work, Certificates of Compliance (COCs), enforcement follow-up, and emergency tree-removal ratifications. The Commission approved a waiver and the NOI for a dock at 81 Pleasant Valley Road (NOI 002-1345) subject to a revised WPA Form 3, proof of Chapter 91 application, and DEP comments within ten days; approved a separate dock/float NOI for 5 Pleasant Valley Road (NOI 002-1347) contingent on submission of copies of all permits to the Agent before work begins; and approved NOIs for 14 Lake Attitash Road (NOI 002-1346) and 7 Beacon Street (NOI 002-1348). Planning and permit conditions (Chapter 91, DEP/NHESP comments, silt fence placement, and stormwater review by the Planning Board) were discussed and incorporated as conditions where applicable.

On compliance and enforcement matters, the Commission approved the Certificate of Compliance request for 7 Point Shore Drive (RCOC 002-1234). The partial COC request and related Enforcement Order for 12-14 South Hunt Road (RCOC 002-1299 / EO 090-1299) were continued to June 2, 2025 pending a Commission site visit amid differing assessments in a recent BSC report about ongoing runoff and revegetation. The request for a COC for 13 Merrill Road (RCOC 002-1330) and a modification to OOC 002-1259 (77 Macy Street) were also continued for further information. The Commission ratified Emergency Certificates for the removal of hazardous trees at 133 Pleasant Valley Road and 8 Lake Attitash Road after arborist verification. Several applicants and staff exchanges noted outstanding permit tasks (revised WPA forms, Chapter 91 filing, and permit copies) and scheduled a site visit to South Hunt Road prior to the next meeting.
