Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission met virtually on April 7, 2025, and considered a mix of permit actions, project approvals, and administrative items. Several hearings were continued to the May 5 meeting. The Commission approved a Certificate of Compliance for 1 Moncrief Street after staff confirmed final monitoring and as‑built materials, and reissued a previously unsigned/ unrecorded Certificate of Compliance for 12 and 60 Merrill Street so the owner could record the original. The Commission also found requested modifications to NOI 002-1306 (8 Birch Lane) to be minor and approved the deck/cover/footing changes.

The Commission approved two RDAs: 12 Pinewood Road (Negative Determination with a required access plan/statement and condition that erosion controls be adjusted as needed) and 473 Main Street (Negative Determination with erosion controls required around the work area and inspection by the Agent). The board supported the Town Forest Trail Maintenance Plan (including signage, color-coded loops, and one short connector trail), approved an Eagle Scout kiosk project at Deer Island (multilingual tide/current safety graphics), and ratified four Emergency Certifications authorizing removal of hazardous trees at 9 ½ Whitehall Rd, 141 Pleasant Valley Rd, 62 Lake Attitash Rd, and 503 Main St. Several other permit hearings (docks and NOI submissions along the Merrimack River) were continued to the May 5 meeting for further review and outstanding materials.
