City Council and School Committee Special Joint Meeting
Appointments to fill two School Committee vacancies (2026-003 and 2026-043). Six candidates will be considered: Thomas Cody; Chris Hunt; Alexandra Laing; Matthew Lipson; Debra Mansea; Pamela Simpson.
The joint City Council and School Committee meeting convened to fill two vacancies on the School Committee. Multiple candidates were nominated for each vacancy, each introduced themselves and spoke about their interest in the positions while members of the Council and School Committee asked questions. Councilor Hogg recused from the first vacancy vote due to a potential conflict of interest.
By roll-call vote the body selected Chris Hunt to fill the first School Committee vacancy (Mr. Hunt received 13 votes). For the second vacancy, after nominations and candidate remarks, Debra Manseau was selected (Ms. Manseau received 9 votes while Tom Cody received 4). The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn at 7:05 PM.
