RVCS Accountability Committee Meeting
Committee reviewed Fall 2025 screeners and flagged weak math performance (notably at E2 level), requesting trend and disaggregated data and standardized (timed) administration. The committee also tasked Karen with drafting an English Language Learners policy to meet DESE requirements and confirmed internal audit preparation support from Colin Vanderberg.
The Accountability Committee met to review Fall 2025 screener results and to receive updates on the school’s accountability plan and internal audit work. Karen presented Jane P.'s fall-screener overview (Acadience and DIBELS for literacy; a math screener), with the key finding that math performance — particularly at the E2 level — was a concern. Committee members asked that future screener reports include historical trend comparisons and disaggregated data to better identify patterns, and recommended that all screeners be administered consistently across classrooms and timed per vendor instructions to preserve validity. The committee also suggested creating a flowchart that defines responsibilities for data collection, analysis, intervention, and student progress tracking, and requested the updated screener review be presented at the next Accountability meeting.
On accountability-plan items, the committee confirmed the caregiver survey will close on February 13, 2026, with one last reminder to families; results will be summarized in The Current and presented to both the Accountability Committee and the full Board of Trustees. Open-response survey items will be reviewed by non-parent audit committee members before being reported back. Internal-audit preparation is on track, with Colin Vanderberg assisting; Karen will draft the English Language Learners (ELL) policy required by DESE (with DESE support), and in-person DESE visits will be scheduled. The committee approved the January meeting minutes earlier in the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:04 PM.
