Cultural Council Cultural Center Subcommittee Meeting
Discussion of a facility update and development of a proposal for usage of the Cultural Center, including goals, definition of “culture,” prioritization, and approval/scheduling processes.
The Cultural Center Subcommittee met to follow up on prior action items and facility concerns. Members approved past minutes, reviewed outstanding maintenance requests and See-Click-Fix tickets (including dead lightbulbs in the gallery, a nonworking dishwasher, and a clogged kitchen sink), and confirmed that Cultural Center facility issues will be managed through the See-Click-Fix app with ownership by City Hall/the mayor’s office. AW reported an on‑demand cleaning quote of $300 from a custodian and the committee requested additional cleaning quotes.
The group assigned several administrative actions: Bonnie will send the mayor the supply list and will ask the mayor’s assistant to install locks on both unisex bathroom doors by April 1, 2026. The subcommittee decided to put subcommittee membership on the agenda for the next full Amesbury Cultural Council meeting. Bonnie took notes on the draft Proposal for the Use of the Cultural Center and will edit that proposal. No public comments were recorded. The meeting was adjourned, and Bonnie will email the subcommittee about scheduling the next meeting in the coming weeks.
