RVCS Committee on Trustees Meeting

The Committee on Trustees met to review its role, recent board assessment results, and priorities for the 2025–26 year. The committee discussed that board effectiveness is tracking upward in most areas, while Development remains low (score of 1). Members noted the need to work with the Development Committee and the Director to create a strategic development/fundraising plan and to use the new DonorPerfect donor-tracking system. The committee also approved the minutes from the June 23, 2025 meeting.

The group identified specific items for Committee on Trustees work in 2025–26: broader board training on development and school representation (including consistent use of board name tags and prepared elevator speeches), direct support for Development’s strategic planning and donor system use, a review and update of the bylaws, evaluation and improvement of the board recruitment process (including inviting prospects to join committees and attend board meetings), scheduling an external board assessment every other year, and planning the annual board retreat (tentatively validated for March 28). There were no public hearings or external applicants discussed and no other formal votes recorded. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.
