RVCS Board Meeting (Zoom)
Board approved the Medical Delegation Administration policy (establishing school-wide storage of an opioid antagonist in first-aid boxes).
The River Valley Charter School Board met via Zoom on August 20, 2025. The primary action taken was approval of the Medical Delegation Administration policy presented by the Lead School Nurse; discussion focused on the storage and use of an opioid antagonist (the nurse stated two doses will be kept in school first-aid boxes, not locked, not assigned to individual prescriptions, and not taken on field trips). The motion to approve was made by E. Rankin, seconded by P. Ganley, and passed with ten ayes and one abstention.
The remainder of the meeting was informational. Trustees reviewed the board calendar (meeting and event scheduling, BOT attendance expectations), asked questions about a grounds redesign bid package (including pond dredging and references, phase timing, and family communications), and received director updates on staffing (HR currently outsourced, classes staffed) and a proposed PBE schedule adjustment (discussion of changing hours to 12–3 p.m. vs. 10–3 p.m. to maintain the work cycle). No substantive public comments were recorded in the minutes. The meeting adjourned at 5:11 PM.
