Conservation Commission
Several Conservation Commission hearings were continued (31 Newton Rd.; 12-14 South Hunt Rd. COC and enforcement; 81 Pleasant Valley Rd. dock; 13 Merrill Rd. COC), the commission ratified an Emergency Certification for hazardous tree removals at Bartletts Reach, and approved use of WPA funds to pay for the MACC conference.
The Conservation Commission convened virtually on March 3, 2025. Several pending matters were discussed and continued for further review: the Notice of Intent for 31 Newton Road was continued to March 17 for a special meeting; requests related to 12–14 South Hunt Road (Certificate of Compliance and Enforcement Order), the Notice of Intent for a seasonal dock at 81 Pleasant Valley Road, and the Certificate of Compliance for 13 Merrill Road were continued to the April 7 meeting to allow additional materials, monitoring reports, and Natural Heritage/DEP responses to be gathered. Staff noted that the Pleasant Valley dock plan lacked full resource delineation and that Natural Heritage comments and a DEP number were still outstanding; the Merrill Road replication area monitoring was reported complete and an as-built is being prepared.
The Commission took two final votes: it approved using WPA funds to pay for attendance at the MACC conference, and it ratified an Emergency Certification for Bartletts Reach permitting removal of arborist-certified hazardous trees that posed threats to people and property. Agents reported that the appraisal and conceptual plan for 128 Kimball Road are complete; no public comments were recorded in the minutes. Routine administrative items (invoice approvals, BSC Group invoice payment, and several continuances) were also handled during the meeting.
