Special City Council and Planning Board Joint Meeting

The Special Joint City Council and Planning Board meeting convened to consider one substantive item: filling a Planning Board vacancy (bill 2024-135) for the remainder of an unexpired term. Applicant Tom Salemi introduced himself, outlined his qualifications, and explained why he seeks the appointment.
Members of both bodies asked questions and offered remarks. Planning Board member Tracey Chalifour questioned Mr. Salemi about minimizing traffic disruptions on projects; he responded that the Planning Board must evaluate all aspects of projects, including traffic, and work to limit neighborhood impacts. Councilor Steven Stanganelli nominated Mr. Salemi; Councilor Pamela Gilday seconded, and the roll-call vote carried unanimously, 9-0. The meeting adjourned shortly thereafter.
