City Council Meeting
Council will consider several mayoral reappointments to the Boards, Commissions, and Committees Review Committee (2024-002 through 2024-006) and a first reading of Administrative Order 2024-01 to continue the Boards, Commissions, and Committees Review Committee established by Administrative Order 2023-01.
The City Council’s meeting focused primarily on mayoral reappointments to the Boards, Commissions and Committees Review Committee and the continuation of that special committee. The council voted unanimously (6-0) to approve Administrative Order 2024-01, extending the committee’s existence through June 30, 2024; the administration described ongoing work reviewing appointed bodies, meeting with staff liaisons and chairs, and aiming to deliver a report by June 30. The council then approved five reappointments to the review committee—Ann Marie Casey (bill 2024-007), Nicholas Cracknell (2024-003), Vinnie Tironi (2024-004), Jennifer Smith (2024-005), and Megan Fahey (2024-006)—all by unanimous votes.
The council also read into the public record a notice from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources proposing an Agricultural Preservation Restriction (APR) for the Bartlett South project (project ID 23C05), describing parcels owned by Maple Ridge Trust and Morrill Trust located at or near Congress Street, Main Street and Mingo Road and requesting municipal acknowledgment and an optional reduction of the statutory notice period. There were no members of the public who spoke during general public comment, and no public hearings or contested matters were decided at this meeting.
