Amesbury’s City Council, after a public hearing, grants National Grid (Massachusetts Electric Company d/b/a National Grid) permission to excavate and install underground electric conduits on Mill Street as described in WR# 31161452, in coordination with Verizon. The project involves approximately 45 feet of underground cable and associated conduit beginning about 175 feet northwest of the Mill Street–Valley Street intersection and extending easterly, located in the public right of way. National Grid and Verizon confirm no conflicts with existing utilities within the right of way. Prior to installation, DIGSAFE, the Department of Public Works, and the City Water and Sewer Department must be informed of the proposed activities. The DPW notes the review addresses underground utility conflicts and does not address concerns of abutting property owners.
