The City Council approves a one-time transfer of $120,416.38 from the FY26 Salary Reserve to various departmental Salaries & Wages accounts to cover the first-year costs of the new OPEIU Local 6 collective bargaining agreement (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028) and FY26 2% cost-of-living adjustments for non-union employees. The transfer is subject to appropriation and requires a copy of the contract per Chapter 95, Section 95-2. The accompanying Memorandum of Agreement implements the new contract terms for 2025–2028, including annual 2% wage increases and targeted pay grade reclassifications for Public Safety Clerks and the Coordinator, plus related salary and benefits changes. The agreement also updates union dues handling, payroll liability provisions, and several operating terms (work weeks, overtime calculation, holidays, and leave) with specific changes such as adding Christmas Eve as a paid holiday. Funding for the first-year items is noted as included in the existing FY26 budget and subject to ratification and appropriation.
