This ordinance authorizes Amesbury to accept and spend a $500,000 MassWorks Infrastructure Program grant for pre-construction work on Clark’s Road. The funds will support design, engineering, permitting, and related activities to prepare the corridor for future redevelopment in the Smart Growth Overlay and MBTA Multifamily Overlay districts. The grant requires no local match and the final construction will be funded through a future source. The work will include a full survey, water main sizing, sidewalks and ADA ramps, stormwater, and traffic calming along 0.5 miles of Clark’s Road and its intersection with Main Street.
