An Order to authorize the Mayor to accept and expend, for its fifth year, a Drug Free Communities Support Program Grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP).

This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to accept and expend a federal Drug Free Communities Support Program grant for the Partnership of Amesbury Community and Teens (PACT) Coalition’s Substance Use Prevention Plan. The grant, administered by the CDC, seeks to strengthen collaboration among communities and to reduce substance use among youth (and eventually adults) by supporting community coalitions and prevention activities. The agreement covers a multi-year period, with this budget action covering 09/30/2024 to 09/29/2025 and requiring a non-federal city match of $203,864, for a total period budget of $328,864. The grant could be renewed if program outcomes are demonstrated.
