This ordinance authorizes borrowing $6,063,254 to pay costs for the Amesbury Middle School roof replacement project, including the AMS Performance Center roof, and related construction costs. The total project budget is about $9.87 million, with approximately $3.95 million already approved in the City budget and the remainder funded through debt. The Treasurer, with the Mayor’s approval, is empowered to borrow under Massachusetts law to finance the project, and the measure requires a two-thirds vote of the City Council to proceed. The Mayor is authorized to take actions necessary to implement the project.
