The City of Amesbury votes to accept a FY24 Legislative Earmark Grant Award of $12,500 from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for engineering services and structural assessment of two pedestrian bridges in the Upper Millyard/Downtown Business District. The reduction from the original $25,000 allocation to $12,500 was approved mid-fiscal year by the Governor under Section 9C of Chapter 29 of the Massachusetts General Laws. Funds will cover inspection and initial structural assessment to support planning and budgeting for future replacement. A Stantec team will perform site visits, review records, create a technical memorandum, and develop a conceptual design for repairs or replacement to meet ADA and structural standards.
