An Order to authorize the Mayor to accept and expend a 2022 Economic Development Bill Earmark from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the amount of $150,000.00 for improvements to urban pedestrian spaces.

The City of Amesbury will accept and expend a $150,000 Economic Development Bill Earmark from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for improvements to urban pedestrian spaces. The earmark funds will extend the brick sidewalk along Market Street just outside Market Square by about 210 feet and replace about 70 feet of concrete walk on the same side of the street, completing the project within the Market Street right-of-way. This downtown pedestrian upgrade aims to enhance the Market Square area, improve connectivity to storefronts and surrounding residential areas, and will be designed and constructed by the Department of Public Works in compliance with Massachusetts prevailing wage laws and Boston Public Works standards, with no anticipated new easements.
