RVCS Development Committee Meeting
The Development Committee met to review fundraising and family-engagement efforts. Committee members reviewed progress toward the $50,000 Annual Fund goal, discussed outreach strategies for the spring, and agreed to send a community-wide email reminder encouraging Annual Fund support. The committee also reviewed the Development Plan goals (including growing leadership gifts and engaging local businesses), identified banks and community partners to pursue charitable funding, and discussed organizing family orientation events to welcome incoming Kinderhaus families.
The meeting included a detailed recap of the 2026 Read-a-thon, reporting increased participation and a 20% fundraising increase over 2025 (total $23,300), higher reader engagement, and a plan to post a full read-a-thon report in the committee folder. Committee members decided to pursue a welcome/orientation event at the Custom House Maritime Museum (target dates May 21 or May 28) with 8th-grade families hosting kinderhaus families, to ask L. Fable to explore Institution for Savings giving opportunities, and to produce a concise "Community of Giving" year-end summary modeled on the 2023–2024 version. The Parent Association’s spring event slate was reviewed and volunteer sign-ups will be circulated. There were no contentious debates recorded; the meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.
