Liquor License Commission Meeting
Approved a new Section 12 All Alcohol license for 14 Merrimac Street LLC at 2 Merrimac St; raised one-day liquor license fees for for-profit applicants to $50 (non-profits remain $0); and declined to impose a local fee for ABCC Section 12D license conversions.
The Liquor License Commission met November 18, 2025. The main substantive item was a public hearing on 14 Merrimac Street LLC’s application for a new Section 12 All Alcohol license for the marina location at 2 Merrimac St. The applicant’s license manager was not present; attorney Paul Gagliardi and business partner Peter Suorsa attended and answered questions. Commissioners asked about whether a restaurant tenant was already in place (it was not), discussed management plans and the potential for a management agreement, and noted ABCC processing timing. The commission voted 2-0 to approve the application.
The commission also voted to raise the one-day liquor license fee for for-profit applicants to $50 effective January 1 while keeping one-day licenses for non-profits at $0. Commissioners discussed but ultimately declined to establish any additional local application fee for Section 12D (all-alcohol) license conversions, opting to require only the ABCC transaction fee and the established all-alcohol annual license fees. The meeting concluded with scheduling the next meeting for December 16 and adjournment.
