Amesbury Public Library Board of Trustee Meeting
Presentation and overview of the FY27–29 Library Strategic Plan by Paper Crane Associates; newly elected trustees Ann Langlois and Jane Becker were introduced.
The Board received regular reports from staff including the facilities update and the director’s report, noted budget items with no questions, and heard updates from four subcommittees. Facilities work in progress includes window restoration, exterior and interior lighting, removal of window AC units for winter, and follow-up on a stone wall by the ramp and ramp replacement quotes. The director reported October usage statistics, collection shelving changes for music media, staff conference attendance supported by scholarships, highlights from youth and adult programs, and several recent closings/early closures.
The main substantive item was a presentation and overview of the FY27–29 Library Strategic Plan by contracted consultants Sarah Glatt and Shelley Rogers of Paper Crane Associates, who introduced the upcoming strategic planning process. Other matters discussed included a request from the high school to close early for an upcoming promenade, an offer from State Representative Dawne Shand to meet with trustees to discuss library funding and state-level issues, logistics for the library’s annual appeal letter-stuffing event, and a proposed trustees’ outing after the December meeting. During Public Comment, the board introduced newly elected trustees Ann Langlois and Jane Becker.
