Library Board of Trustees
The Amesbury Public Library Board of Trustees is a governing board made up of nine members. The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the Library’s historic building and finances while maintaining a commitment to the Library’s mission to provide safe space for lifelong exploration and learning, public understanding, freedom of expression, experiencing beauty, and wonder through the best possible resources, facilities, and services for the Amesbury community. The Board determines rules and regulations governing Library operations and services and members sit on subcommittees including Preservation, Finance, Long Range Planning, Director Review, Communications, and ad hoc committees as needed.

Amesbury Public Library Board of Trustees Preservation Sub-Committee Meeting
Discussion of preservation projects including a Community Preservation Fund application, the Redford Records Room custom shelving project, and conservation work at the Circulation Desk. Updates on the New England Hidden Histories project and accessioning procedures are also on the agenda.

Library Board of Trustee Meeting
Agenda includes a Vice Chair election, a vote on a half-day staff development closure, and discussion/vote regarding Trustee trust funds. The board will also hear an update on the FY27-19 Strategic Plan and a School Street construction project update.

Library Board of Trustees Meeting
The board will hear a presentation and discussion on the draft FY27–29 Library Strategic Plan by Paper Crane Associates and vote on the Building Closure and Program Cancellation Policy (formerly the Storm Policy). Members will also receive an update on the School Street construction project and on the MBLC Construction Grant timeline.

Library Board of Trustees Fundraising Ad-hoc Subcommittee Meeting
The committee will review the 2026 Annual Appeal status and vote on the final appeal letter, discuss other fundraising opportunities, and consider the fund expenditure procedure under old business.
