RVCS Board Meeting
Board accepted the school's audited/annual financials and reviewed strong 2025 MCAS results showing pre‑pandemic scoring, high growth in ELA and Math, and performance above state levels across subjects.
The Board met with full attendance to review routine governance and school performance items. A member of the public raised concerns about electromagnetic exposure in the school. The auditors from Daniel Dennis & Company presented the audited financials, reporting no significant issues; the Board voted to accept the annual financials. The Director reported that BlueLion HR has been retained for outsourced HR services, a grounds redesign will include a $9,830 drainage adjustment covered by the Foundation, and Coffee with Karen was well attended.
The Board reviewed academic accountability items: MCAS results returned to pre‑pandemic levels with the school exceeding state averages across subjects, showing high growth in ELA and Math and a decrease in chronic absenteeism. An internal Essential Elements audit was presented with plans for an external audit this year and encouragement to increase classroom spending to complete Montessori materials. Committees provided updates (by‑laws review upcoming for the Committee on Trustees; director evaluation tool to be developed), and the Grievance Committee reported recent activity with one matter referred to the HR firm.
