City Council Ad Hoc Budget Committee of the Whole Meeting
Council held FY26 budget hearings for Community & Economic Development, Planning, Conservation, Zoning Board of Appeals, Inspectional Services and Health, and the Department of Public Works including Water and Wastewater enterprise budgets.
Councilor Stanganelli convened the Budget Committee of the Whole for Budget Hearing #3 to receive presentations of proposed FY26 budgets. Department directors presented and discussed proposed budgets for Community & Economic Development, the Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Inspectional Services (including Health Services), and the Department of Public Works with its Water Division, Wastewater/Sewer enterprise, Snow & Ice, Recycling/Refuse Removal, and Outdoor Lighting budgets. Attached presentations were referenced for each department, and Councilors engaged directors with questions on the proposals.
Discussion was substantive but no final budget votes or other substantive decisions were recorded in the minutes; the only formal recorded vote was to adjourn at 8:48 PM. Councilor Wheeler specifically engaged Director Buckley on shifts within the Water Division budget. No public comments or concerns are recorded in the minutes.
