Planning and Development Subcommittee Meeting
Order 2024-058 (Preservation Restriction Agreement for 6 Center St) was returned to the full City Council with a positive recommendation; Councilor Corcoran recused as an abutter. Ordinances 2024-065 (extend R-40 zoning along Haverhill Rd) and 2024-066 (Amesbury Gateway Village SGOD amendments) were continued to the June meeting.
The Planning & Development Subcommittee met May 20, 2024. Members in attendance were Councilors Corcoran, Mandeville, and Hogg. Councilor Mandeville noted the Rules Committee advised the subcommittee may be expanded to five members. There were no public comments.
The subcommittee considered three agenda items. For 2024-058 (an Order to approve and accept a Preservation Restriction Agreement on property located at 6 Center Street), Councilor Corcoran recused himself as an abutter; Councilor Hogg moved to return the matter to the full City Council with a positive recommendation, the motion was seconded by Councilor Mandeville, and it passed unanimously (2-0). Two proposed zoning ordinance items—2024-065 (extend the R-40 zoning district along Haverhill Road) and 2024-066 (amendments to the Amesbury Gateway Village Smart Growth Overlay District)—were discussed briefly and each was continued to the next regularly scheduled meeting in June by unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:08 PM.
